Its Oscar weekend and Im still trying to figure out how Gravity got into the running for best picture. Worst dialogue Ive heard in a big-budget film in years (and thats saying a lot) and George Cloonys worst acting since he was on the Roseanne Barr TV show. Stiff as a board. Id like to see American Hustle win, but am 99.9% sure the Best Film award will go to 12 Years a Slave. Its too bad every guy nominated for Best Actor cant win; Id especially like to see it go to DiCaprio or Bale, but again think Ejiofor will get it for 12 Years a Slave. Best Actress had better go to Adams or Blanchett; if Bullock gets it you can expect to see my television set being hurled out the living room window. I think Barkhad Abdi CLEARLY deserves the Best Supporting Actor award, but I think its even more clear that he wont get it; it will go to Jared Leto. Ive been underwhelmed by Jennifer Lawrence...until American Hustle; Id be happy to see her win Best Supporting Actress. And any year that Woody Allen writes a script, he should get the Oscar for writing.
