Its Saturday and Im fired up: I had a sign made by my fav signmaker and it reads: Fight the Blight...and theres ALOT of blight to fight in Schenectady NY...its my own personal campaign of letting people know that its not OK to live in a city filled w/blight...to be honest; Ive never seen a recent politician clean up w/a bag and go out and pickup litter...Pete Seeger who died weeks ago @ 94 was last seen w/a bag picking up litter not long before he died! Hed do the same when he was on tour...but, were all inhabitants of Mother Earth and it behooves us to do the same...Earth Day started on the banks of the Hudson River in 1970...I still have the original button of that day when I was in parochial school and there were activists even then who cared enough...the button is called EarthWorks...which is what Earth Day is really referred to as in the beginnings...so, 44 years later there is still blight...in April try and pickup as much trash as you can to honor this wonderful day/movement...stay tuned as I go about bringing attention to our lazy politicos to get moving and pick it up!...Stay tuned...
