Its Saturday, and Jehovahs Witnesses are out and about with their copies of Awake. Seeing a couple of them this morning reminded me of an Army buddy who told me how he used to handle Witnesses knocking on his door at unreasonable hours of the morning (he was from Texas, and said the Witnesses there were unusually aggressive and thick-skinned). Hed simply answer the door butt naked and greet them politely while they stood there gasping like harpooned groupers. He always expressed interest in their visit, and would invite them inside to talk further, but for some reason they invariably declined and beat a hasty retreat. After four or five such encounters, theyd skip his house when they visited the area again.
