Its #SharkWeek, my favorite time of year. Every day in 2014 Shark Week, I will post a link to one organization that I think is doing gamechanging work to save the sharks or their habitat. I hope you will consider giving. I love the Air Jaws as much as the next guys, and I cant get enough of #Sharknado either (#Sharknado2 was even better). But the truth is while about a dozen people are killed by sharks globally each year, humans are responsible for the deaths of at least 100 million sharks each year. Thats 274,000 per day or 11,400 every single hour. These are majestic creatures, who are apex predators in the oceans, which rely on them for balance and if we could all chip in even a couple bucks this Shark Week for people trying desperately to change these ratios, not only will sharks be better off, but so will oceans, and so will we.
