Its Showtime! When the Great Egret enters its breeding time, the area around their yellow eyes turns a vivid green, and long, delicate feathers grow as ornamentation. In this photograph, I wanted to capture the final rays of sunshine illuminating these feathers as well as the glow in the yellow bill. As they might say in Hollywood, Ladies and Gentlemen, its Showtime! Photograph taken at the Venice Rookery in Venice, Florida.
