Its TALA MAI Time - Dear Niu Nites I hope you can help me with something, so I’m just gonna get straight to the point. I’m 25 years old and moved here from the islands awhile ago to live with my sister, to help me find a job and help the parents back in the homeland. Now I’ve always had bit of a strained relationship with my sister and other siblings because growing up, I would be considered the favourite and the prettiest in the family. I know she is finding it hard to have me here because of our past, and hates that her friends and her husband’s family are now fussing over me. So I have been here for the last 2 months, and I am struggling with something and don’t know how to tell my sister. Her husband has been hitting on me and trying to get with me, but I have refused…I swear!! I am here in NZ trying to make a better life for me, and I wouldn’t do anything to wreck my sister’s or anyone’s family. How do I go about telling my sister, I feel she might not believe me, because I’ve only just arrived in the country and has always hated that I was the prettiest and might think I’m using that to get with her husband? I know her husband will deny it and he can just tell my sister to send me back to the islands, it’s so not fair and they’re my only family here, I’ve got no one else who would believe me??
