Its TICK TYME! Summer brings hiking as well as creepy crawlies and LYME DISEASE is at the forefront of medical controversy. It has made its way around the globe and its time WE ALL EDUCATE ourselves about it! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH IT- YOU WILL BE SO IMPRESSED! Over the past three months we have had multiple patients come to our clinic with symptoms and labs indicating Lymes disease. We were taught in school only people on the EAST COAST came down with Lyme Disease- now we know it is ALL ACROSS OUR COUNTRY and this has caused me to study it like i have never before. Ive come to some conclusions about the condition after reading all the research- I feel strongly that Lymes is like most infections- it will affect those with the weakest immunity the most. Therefore- if you have poor nutrition, poor sleep, high stress, are susceptible to allergens, have multiple chemical exposures (dental, work, home) have adrenal and/or thyroid imbalances then you are also more susceptible to infections. It seems that even though this bacteria carried by ticks can change infectious states in the body- it seems that the greatest way to overcome it is by working on all the systems to make the body strong enough to eradicate it on its own. I do not see long term antibiotics or even long term herbal antibiotics as being the answer.
