Its Tropes Tuesday attendees so lets talk tropes! Todays trope is as what was promised last week, the Draco in Leather Pants. Whats the Draco in Leather Pants? Well to put it in simplistic terms, its when you take a villainous, a less than or non-sympathetic character or a polarizing character and simply ignore their less than affable traits and over blow any sympathetic traits (or lack there of and simply create some) simply because you fancy the way the character (or the person playing the character) looks. Because you find the character or actor/actress visually appealing, you typically refuse to accept that they may or are really not exactly the object of extreme sympathy or that theyre just a downright deplorable character. I think we all know whos the most prominent offender in this category on the show. Of course, its not exactly Iwan Rheons fault the female fan-base finds him attractive, but its solely because of his looks that many of the show!only female fanbase have transformed him from a disgusting, sick and downright evil bastard and turned him into a misunderstood, lonely bastard looking for acceptance from his father and vents all his frustrations on Theon because he doesnt know how to properly vent it. Of course there are other examples on the show includes Petyr Baelish whom has been Woobified (another trope well discuss in the future) by fan-girls who find Aiden Gillen attractive and Cersei Lannister by fan-boys due to how Lena Headey tends to be unfairly hot and sultry despite being truly haughty, cruel and rotten. Thoughts Attendees? Any villainous/polarizing character (on the light side of the Gray morality to the dark to even the black part of it) that suffer this due to the actor/actress that plays them? -Raimundus Rex
