Its Vincent van Goghs 161st birthday today. He was one of my first lovers in art and conscious creation, mostly because of his determination to live out his passion and pioneer a new artistic paradigm and movement (expressionism baby), even if it shortened his life & drove him nuts in the end. He didnt start painting until his late twenties - and died at age 37. In these brief 10+ years he produced more work than most painters in a lifetime - around 2,100 artworks (860 oil paintings + 1,300 drawings, sketches & watercolors).
