Its a BEAUTIFUL morning, Day 3 of 7 of our Sweet Life Plan!! So how are you FEELING - any headaches out there? Less bloating? Howd you like your spaghetti squash dinner? I know some people like spaghetti squash but not in place of spagetti noodles so you may also want to try different recipes using this great veggie! For those of you who didnt have a chance to read this in the guide I sent you, here are 15 Impacts of Sugar Addiction: 1. People who consume too much sugar are more likely to get Type 2 diabetes down the road. 2. Sugar is hard on your heart. According to the American Heart Association women should only have a max of 5 tsp/20g per day, men 9 tsp/36g per day, and kids 3 tsp/12g per day. Now, consider that a single soda has about 12g of sugar and a single slice of 100% whole wheat bread has 2g of sugar that adds up extremely quickly. Ideally the amount of added sugars in ones diet would be 0. 3. May lead to insulin resistance and Alzheimer’s disease. 4. Truly addicting sugar releases chemicals in the brain that can cause your teeth to chatter, make you jittery, binge, stress, and feel full of anxiety. 5. Leptin - Leptin is a hormone whose job is to tell your brain that it’s full. Consuming too much sugar messes with this hormone thus you feel more hungry, more often. Eating too much fructose will also make you feel hungry even when you’re overeating to begin with. 6. Sugar makes you tired. Yes, you may get an initial jolt from the sugar, but pretty soon your body will crash. Big time. 7. Higher risk of developing depression. See my free download from postpartumcures for more help with this. Cutting the sugar helped me dramatically in this department. 8. Sugar damages collagen and elastin ….which means we’re looking older with every bite! 9. Sugar is empty calories - no nutrition, no protein, no healthy fats, no enzymes. 10. Sugar is bad for your teeth and feeds the bad bacteria in the mouth. 11. There’s considerable evidence that sugar contributes to cancer in it’s negative effects on metabolism. 12. Brain Fog- not remembering instructions & processing ideas- is caused by too much sugar. 13. Your workouts aren’t as effective when sugar is in the body. Food is fuel and sugar actually pulls good minerals away from the body. 14. Consuming sugar which is subsidized by the American government just supports the irresponsibility of our government in subsidizing unhealthy products. 15. The indirect impacts of sugar addiction are innumerable. Because sugar impacts our mood, our decision-making, our energy level, it also impacts the conversations we have thus our relationships, our work, and everything that we hold dear.
