Its a beautiful Monday. This is the week of Art on the Walk (5/24) which is in its 7th year and its 3rd official year as a juried art show with the white tents. I was remembering the first one with just a couple of us on the sidewalk across from Associated Bank. Rather Bohemian, nothing official, I just wanted artwork in the Village Centre. It was the first time I met fibre artist Susan Radke who was one of the first artists to join Purloin Studio. Sue Goss, a dear friend, also sat outside with me in the heat selling artwork and was pivotal in the opening of the brick and mortar gallery. Now the show has a beautiful location next to the waterfall and Mill pond, incredible artists that set up their tents and spend the day in our community for only a $10 booth fee (no jury fees). The Village Centre is still footing most of the costs and includes us in the advertising for the Sidewalk Market. The combining of these two events has grown to encompass the sidewalks of Main St and the 4 corners at Appleton Ave. Join all of us on May 24 from 10am to 4pm and bring the family. Help us celebrate the Arts and Small Town America.
