Its a chilly day in 1939 and all of the employees of the Miller Bros. Department Store have been asked to stand outside the west side entrance to take a company photo. The Chattanooga Police Department would redirect the northbound lane of Broad Street for a few minutes, so the photographer can squeeze everyone in. The result is an epic moment from our history, shared 75 years later. Thanks to John Dever who brought this photo to us, the Chattanooga History Center and Marie Cullis who scanned and cataloged it in their collection. Also, a special thanks to Sam Hall with DeepZoomChattanooga, who has made it possible to get up closer to these people from our past.
