Its a common idiocy in Nigeria that in the aftermath of an incident all that government have always done is to set up committee to look into the cause of the incident or charge concerned authority to investigate the remote and immediate cause even when the cause has already been identified, which will eventually turn out inconclusive. As we condole with the family of those who lost their beloved ones and pray for the quick recovery of the injured, It is apt to point out to the federal government that no amount of compensation can commensurate with the lives of the job seekers lost. But in the interest of equity, equipoise and sympathy, the government should find it worthy to recompense the bereaved families, employ a member of each bereaved family perpetually into the Nigeria immigration service and sanction immediate refund of the #1000 to all the applicants. It is not all words but action and politics with human touch is the ideal.
