Its a difficult task to write this to you all as we all held such high hopes, doctors & medical professionals alike have led Kate, her loved ones, friends & supporters into a false sense of security, of hope that a life saving combined Kidney Pancreas transplant was coming sooner rather then later. She has been told she is #3 nationally for the past 2+ years but the reality is Kate is VERY VERY sick! Everyday she slowly gets weaker, everyday the dream of getting better slips further away despite her parents & sisters desperate attempts to keep Kate well. When asked how are you? Dont be fooled by the response that they, Kate,Barry,Lisa & Bec are ok because they arent! Apart from the constant fear, lack of control & overwhelming feeling of hopelessness, there is depression,anxiety & sadness accompanied by the thought that people not within the immediate family wont believe just whats taking place, that theyre over exaggerating, I mean could one family unit truly be this misfortune? Yes, this is the reality so when you hear them say its ok I dont need help know its all a front because its easier to act tough then be vulnerable and ask for help! To the people who have bought food, mowed lawns, visited, organized fund raisers, community events, taken Kate out socially,sent flowers,helped out in any way, thankyou from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️ You wont EVER see us give up!
