Its a few minutes early, but... This Sundays musical selection is more about the artist, than one particular song. That artists name is, Thurl Ravenscroft. Most of you will not be familiar with the name, but it’s a dead certainly, that you are familiar with him. Thurl Ravenscroft’s two big claims to fame were: 1- He was the voice of Tony the Tiger. 2- He sang the song, “Your A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. He was a regular vocalist for Disney. If you go into Disney World/Land’s Tiki-Lounge, he’s the bird with the deep voice. His voice is also featured in the Haunted Mansion and other places, in the parks. His Wikipedia page is pretty interesting, especially the listing of some of the things he’s worked on. Oddly, there’s no mention of his voice in the theme song for the Disney series, “Zorro.” Also, what baby-boomer doesn’t remember the song with the lyric, “All the gold and pieces of eight, all belong to Applegate!
