Its a good and welcome news friends that the survey of India of GOI is embarking upon a project to begin work on mapping and surveying of River Ganga to determine the sources of pollution along its basin which will altogether cost 542 crores. The total Ganga basin area is 2.5 kilometers and its various strategic points will be covered during this exercise of determination of sources of pollution. The total time to be taken in this exercise will be two years. The work would be more detailed and exhaustive as compared to the past surveys. The work will start from the origin of Gangotri to the place it joins Bay of Bengal. Under this ambitious project the survey of India will clean the pollution on the 2.5 kilometer stretch of the river Ganges. Lets hope that pious Ganga and its basin is finally cleaned of all the pollutants that has made it a bad Ganga over the years. Lets hope for the best.
