Its a great day for America, folks! May you all have a happy and safe July 4th while taking a moment to remember what a privilege it is to live in such an amazing country. Remember that our great country would not be what it is today without the courageous founders who faced treason if captured, by declaring independence in 1776 from Great Britain. Later, at the Philadelphia Convention (1787), the founders created our system of government which is outlined in the Constitution, the oldest written constitution in governance today. In 1789 it was ratified by the states. As a Representative Republic with checks and balances, our government also has a system of to correct one branch exceeding its permitted authority (although voters have the ultimate say at the ballot box... and it does seem one branch appears to be getting hit down often by their counter part of late). And so, enjoy your July 4th while remembering what it is really all about.
