Its a labour of love! What I have realised is a lot of time, effort and love goes into making these Christmas cakes and puddings. It would definitely be easier and cheaper to just buy one but wheres the joy in that?! We have had a great time talking with whanau and friends about recipes, techniques, kitchen dramas and wonderful memories ❤ So the result of Labour Weekend is one Xmas pudding with coins and three Christmas cakes, two decorated with glazed cherries and almonds and one waiting to be iced (another whole lesson from a friend whos the expert). Seasons were a success too and she did it all by herself in Tauranga with guidance via phone, skype and email. Family tradition has been maintained for another year and passed on to another generation :-)
