Its a little known truth that Felix Mendelssohn suffered from intense anger. His rages were so volcanic that he would become bedridden. A series of strokes ensued, and at the tender age of 38, he was gone. Intensity in his music suggests the stirring of a vast soul that knew the boundaries of life, all while he surmised a place he described as death, where it is to be hoped there is still music, but no more sorrow or partings.
