Its a long one, but...As the year draws to an end and we celebrate Chanukah, Christmas, and/or Kwanza, a time to be with and remember family and friends, I sit and ponder-what do these celebrations REALLY mean? Yes, they are about traditions, love, friends, family, our bounty, whether gifts from God, Santa, or Mother Earth. But also, a time of reflection and looking forward. As in A Christmas Carol when Mr. Scrooge sees what his past has taught him and what his future could hold. The past 12 years have been held a lot of great times, and very bad times and everything in between. Joy, heartache, sickness, loss, marriages, births and deaths. The most joyous event was my marriage, which is stronger today that when we said I do. So, as 2014 ends, I ask for only a few things for 2015. Simple but powerful things. #1-forgiveness-if I offended, hurt or angered you, please forgive me. #2-understanding-I am human. I wear my heart on my sleeve and react sometimes without thinking. #3-love-something we need to survive, take for granted, and should give to each other every day. I with you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May you all be blessed, healthy, happy and loved in 2015 and in the years to come.
