Its a proud story of RECOVERY! More than two months after the 7.2 magnitude killer quake, Bohol now starts to pick up pace and the bits and pieces of their dreams. Last December 22, 2013, M Lhuillier Philippines came to visit schools and communities for the second time. What they saw? A community knit and bonded by an experience and a vision of rebuilding and growth. Thru the port of Tubigon, the nation’s leading brand in money remittance services penetrated THREE towns and their corresponding schools namely Sagbayan, Loon and Maribojoc. At the forefront, Mr. Michael Lhuillier, Executive Vice President (EVP), with his family, Senior Managers and the rest of the team distributed relief packs to almost SIX HUNDRED families and a number of tarps for roofing to others in need. BUT on top of the “Tulay ng Pilipino’s” priority were the kids. Greeting them a Merry Christmas, young and eager graders of about 600 pupils coming from three different learning institutions, each received bags and school supplies to help them augment their resources. Benefiting schools namely Canmano (Sagbayan), Maribojoc and Loon Elementary School also received a helpful number of tarps for roofing to shelter learners from heat and rain during classes. M Lhuillier Philippines, for many years, strongly advocates an attainment of a sturdy scholastic foundation. According to the EVP “Education helps you get ahead in life”. An overwhelmed principal for five years, Vivian Samputon of Canmano Elementary School of Sagbayan Bohol could not help but to agree more. She also adds in here thoughts as she said “It takes a village to educate a child”. Mr. Lhuillier, when asked what he wanted to happen said that what we want to do is to have things get back to normal “For kids to remain in school and parents to get up and back on the activity of supporting their families”. For this season of Christmas, recognize and find your very own way to GIVE HELP! Its a man’s legacy to a brother in need....
