Its a quiet morning here on the mountain as I go about planning my day. I am mindful that no matter how well I plan, there are always unexpected events and circumstances, no matter how small, that can hold sway over how I spend the day. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to spending the afternoon with an old and dear friend, away from phones and computers and the usually inescapable influences of current and mundane events. We will talk, reminisce about our past history together, catch up on life as it is now, and speculate about what the future holds. When the afternoon is over, there will be one more paragraph to add to the chapter about our friendship. I cant wait to write it.
