Its a sad day for Australian sport. I was lucky enough to meet Phillip Hughes at Allan Border Field in Albion Park during an exhibition game a few years back. I was walking through a corridor behind one of the stands and he was coming out of the NSW rooms, although it was a very brief encounter, he came across as a very kind person and reeeeally loved the game. (Not only that, but Ian Healy was standing right around the corner too!!) Me and Dad were both obsessed with his stats during his time playing for NSW. And it was always dumbfounding listening to ABCs Grandstand on Saturday and hearing about a 19 year old, knocking tons, game after game! Regardless of the fact he maybe swung at a few too many wide outside off during his early days playing in the Australian test side, he was still an incredible anomaly of an athlete and had a lot of cricket left to play. God Bless You Phil!! Rest in Peace mate.
