Its a shame that so many people will focus on one Negative action - TopicsExpress

Its a shame that so many people will focus on one Negative action and blow it out of proportion.. exaggerate it and over shadow all the good things that go on... Even sadder is 9 times out of 10... the people who are blowing it out of proportion and exaggerating/ escalating situations are not even at the shows or did not see the event.. that is just SAD... I will personally BAN any negative people who spread rumors and situations that are not true so I do not have to see there PROPAGANDA... Lets keep it positive people.. dont let negative actions over shadow positive and lets handle those negative actions in a positive manner.. not self destruct ourselves!! Bully responded about last weeks show with this and wow... So many great things happened last weekend.... thank you for acknowledging the Positive Christopher James!! We should all be more eager to share the good than the bad!! Only then will our community start getting better.. we must change our Focus!! As a father of 3, an advocate for all Bully Breeds, a former animal cruelty investigator, I can agree on most of what you have spoke on. I am fortunate enough to have spoken to and worked with presidents from several registries (ABKC, UKC, BBCR, RKC) and I think the concerns addressed in this thread are taken seriously. It is easy to blame a registry and ask for change. The power as stated by some, lies in the people. Those who register, show and support. Demand change, leaving removes you, but does not remove the issue. I am not a breeder, I make next to nothing off of my dogs. As popular as 1 is, hes only been bred 3 times in almost 3 years. Lead by example. I have attended perhaps more shows than 80% of show goers. I can honestly say that Ive seen few physical altercations, I dont smoke, or drink, so I try not to be around that crowd before, during, or after events. I think the beauty in what was created for these dogs is often overlooked by these negative things. I attended a show this weekend, where a little girl who was bullied out of public school found refuge in showing her dog and becoming the number 1 Junior handler in the ABKC. I attended a show where a English Bulldog thats best friend, a little girl, drowned less than a year ago, won a few ribbons. I was at a show where an NFL player signed a ton of autographs for kids, without telling a single one no. I was at a show with maybe one of the largest junior handler classes I had seen in years competed 4 times! At the same event a kennel brought young kids from a local YMCA down to a show to help with dogs and experience the breed. There is definitely bad, but there is a whole lot of good. Its about your focus and what you choose to focus on. Anyway its early, Im going to speak to some kids at a Memorial Day event about responsible ownership, but thought Id chime in.
