Its a shame that the city of Fort Lauderdale cant see a way to - TopicsExpress

Its a shame that the city of Fort Lauderdale cant see a way to resolve this issue. Heres a man, Arnold Abbott, who, in the MOST beautiful way, has created a living memorial for the past 20 years to his deceased wife: Feeding homeless people who are hungry. Hes been doing this for 20 years; he didnt just start doing this this week. For whatever reason, the city is offended by this mans beautiful tribute to his wife and expression of his own humanity, and decided to outlaw kindness and compassion. Of course, the city COULD make the decision to help him! The city COULD provide a space and support so that people who are hungry do not have to face the indignities that Mr Abbott is trying to save them. The city COULD show the world that kindness and compassion are beautiful and to be encouraged. Instead, they have chosen to embrace and endorse the ugliness that humans are all too capable of. I am sharing this story to CELEBRATE Arnold Abbott, the people he is so willing to help, his beautiful wife (she must have been beautiful to inspire a service like that, huh?), and to celebrate human potential. We have a long way to go, as the mayor of Fort Lauderdale reminds us, but Im not gonna let him bring me down! heres the article. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2822829/Charity-worker-90-arrested-police-feeding-homeless-gets-right-work-one-day-later-despite-outcry-insensitive-mayor-gets-arrested-again.html
