Its a tough day at Dog Patch. I will miss this guy. I watched him grow up. We have never seen eye to eye on much of anything. We have been there for each other when we needed to be. Politically we couldnt be more opposed. He seems ok being wrong all the time. Never seen anyone work harder than him. Fought for him against THE MAN. Then became THE MAN. Made it weird. Hes taught me that you can disagree but hold respect and that is a valuable lesson to carry forward. The one thing I will miss that he wont believe, is his kids running around the store, I hope hell bring them in from time to time. I have no doubt he will be a huge success and one day may pull my ass out of a fire, literally. see below. . . Dog Patch Family, Without knowing fully where to begin I would like to say thank you for making the last 17 years of my life full of joy. I started working at dog patch as a kid and over the years it has become my home. The staff... My family, are some of the most amazing, talented and dedicated people Ive ever had the pleasure of working with. As customers many of you know me, a lot of you very closely. It has been an honor to have you as part of my life and a blessing to be a part of yours. I cant put in to words what this experience has been for me. Dog patch and the people within its walls have been my constant, my rock. Several years ago I began a new chapter of my life. With the full support of my family there I pursued a career in public service. Its a field that brings me great fulfillment. As I have advanced towards pursuing this dream I looked forward to and dreaded the day that it would take me beyond my purpose here in the store. Today is that day. It is with both great excitement and sadness that I tell you I will no longer be there when you come in to grab your dog food or snag some crickets. I will miss a lot of things about dog patch... But you guys, the customers, are what Ill miss the most. I wish my family there continued success. For those of you whom Ive grown close with over the years and havent seen lately, feel free to friend me and keep in touch! Once again Id like to thank you all for being such an important part of my life and entrusting me with your family pets, I will not soon forget any of you. Mike
