Its all choreographed kabuki drama --- Applied Perception Management. Western analysts and commentators, particularly in the US, cast the economic transition period that we are in, as a zero-sum winner-take-all conflict between the East vs. West, North vs. South, US vs Russia - China, or whatever other foes their minds conjure. Well, this just about sets things back on track --- that it comes from official Chinese sources is important. The goal never is, or was, to take down the US is an economic war, but rather to get a seat-at-the-table where global financial power is wielded. It is more about global economic re-balancing. Yes, this global reserve currency re-balancing act does require a transition from the unilateral Fiat Petrodollar regime. But, what is designed to replace it is not anti-US or anti-dollar. It is more of an expansion of what the USD is, and a shift of power from the Fed to the Fed-dominated BIS. Granted, the transitional adjustment turmoil may be calamitous for some, particularly the over-leveraged --- but for the many, it will likely pass by with the blink of an unknowing eye. Its all Hegelian Dialectic real-time gamed and no one gains from uncontrolled systematic destruction. ********************** EXCERPTS On December 27, the Chinese press reported on a speech by Vice Premier Wang Yang with the title The United States is the guide of the world; China is willing to join this system. In the text, Wang Yang reportedly said, China and United States are global economic partners, but America is the guide of the world. America already has the leading system and its rules; China is willing to join the system and respect those rules and hopes to play a constructive role. With a mindset shaped by economic calculations, the Chinese may have realized that challenging this present system, toppling it, and replacing it with something more Chinese would have been an extremely risky and costly proposition. In the process, China may well be defeated or suffer great losses. It would be much more effective and economical to just join the system and play a constructive role while slowly and steadily introducing Chinese tenets into the system. atimes/atimes/China/CHIN-01-05012015.html **********************
