Its almost a quarter of a century since the #Barnoldswick Co-operative building on Albert Road was demolished and a new store built across the other side of Fernlea Avenue. As part of the deal to build the store, #Barlicks Town Square was created on the site of the old building. Using Yorkstone paving and stone setts, the square was constructed with heritage materials which complement the stone built town centre. Trees planted in the Town Square beds are popular and attractive features. 25 years on, and the Town Square is the focal point for year round community run activities that attract tens of thousands of visitors to the bustling town centre. The Town Square is now home to Barnoldswicks Market, which has just celebrated its first year. The market helps make Barnoldswick busier still! Our Town Square is at the heart of our community, giving a home to exciting events like Barlick Bands on the Square and Barlick Beach as well as a lovely space to sit and chat throughout the year. #GBHighSt
