“Its alright mom, calm down” I replied in frustration. “Why should I calm down? You have traveled all the way from Delhi to Patna to cast your vote and these chaps are denying me of my right. Not done” She was furious. “You havent got the slip okay? You should have asked the authorities about it earlier. What can be done now? Did you try that SMS thingy that the fellow at the booth was advising about” I asked. “I am getting a failed message every time. Wait I guess I have Pratimas(The ward counselor) number. She sent me her daughters wedding card sometime back, it must be mentioned on that. Let me find that, and call her up. She will have to answer” Mom replied, calmer this time. “Okay go ahead” I surrendered. “Here it is” My mom finally managed to find the right marriage invitation card from a heap of similar looking cards. She smiled with a child like enthusiam. She had a ten minutes discussion with the ward counselor and the ward counselor surrendered as well. “Shell be calling in ten minutes. She said lot of voter records have been jumbled up. She has promised to help me out” She replied. “Hmmm” I said, I had no hope about her getting a chance to vote but I didnt want to break her heart. The phone rang in exactly ten minutes and she got her booth and serial number. “So Mr. Frustrated Indian, chalein poll booth?” She asked with a playful smile. “Of course mom” I replied
