Its always nice to go to a event where you can self reflect on things youve done and people you have hurt. And be able to see the change in your life and know why that change took place. Last night wasnt just a concert of feel good music. It was dive into your heart and be lifted up and out kinda night concert. Many illustrations were given but the one that hit me the most was the Tree. We may have the biggest branches, the fullest of leaves and look pretty on top. But what do our ROOTs look like. What has helped us grow? How is our footing? Do we have a firm foundation? Were are we getting our Nutrients from?,,,,,,,, Then during intermission they asked of all the Pastors, worship leaders and people involved in youth outreach to meet backstage and that Mark Hall had something for us. This is where we ran into John Orange Crush West and I was so excited to see them and what we were going to do that he and I totally went on without our beautiful brides past the usher and then realized that they werent by our sides. Mannnn I felt bad. It made me think of how many times i have have ran ahead excited to accomplish something when I should have had my best friend and wife there beside me to help me overcome. Our wives are our back bone. They are our listening ear whenever we may gripe. They are our number one supporter and its crazy that sometimes we dont give them the credit they deserve. They say that behind every good man is a Great woman. Theres not even enough spots on a page to tag all the woman but you know who you are. On the way home i was thankful that we could spend this night together. Casting Crowns was actually the first Band i ever heard on The Joy FM. If it wasnt for Mike and Annette Handschin taking me in and giving me work then i wouldnt be where I am today. Im am still a work in progress though. But if it wasnt for there unconditional love, i dont know where i would be (probably still in prison). I love Casting Crowns and I have actually had the pleasure to perform along side them at Lifest in Wisconsin with Zero Gravity Outreach . I remember that when they were done I met Mark as he walked off stage and thanked him for his gift and how he chose to use it. I think its crazy how my mess was turned into a message. It says that everyone has a gift. What is yours? How will you use it? I truly hope my wife Sarah Harmon Hickman had a wonderful experiance
