Its amazing how certain sounds and smells trigger deep emotions. Sitting at my favorite park and this little boy has a rattle. Not your every day rattle though. ..this one has a distinct pitch and resonance that I havent heard since Rachel was tiny. She lost the rattle right before Mike was born and I had not seen another like it since. The little boys daddy picked him up and walked past me and he smells like baby lotion. Tears flooded my eyes before I could recall the memory. The brain is such an incredible gift.
