Its amazing how, in this day and age, framing in JUST THE HEADLINE can determine the whole narrative for massive groups of people. They dont even bother reading or watching the rest of the story. Ive been affected by this myself when I had a sarcastic or counter-intuitive headline on my blog post (which itself was about reclaiming words and narrative) and someone judged me without even reading the post. The 140 Character Generation. This post (amongst other things) reminded me of this today: gawker/don-lemon-gives-cosby-rape-accuser-tip-for-not-getting-1660499698 If you read the headline Don Lemon is clearly a victim blaming moron who deserves to get fired, right?... Let me be very clear, Im totally against blaming the victim... but watch the clip. The entire exchange was him reluctantly asking questions on behalf of the part of the audience who was calling her a liar. He was trying to gently give her a chance to explain/fill in the holes that were undermining her credibility in their eyes. He and CNN do plenty of stupid shit, but this was not a shining example of that. Watch it. Understand context.
