Its amazing how many hikers i have met out here who i met (usually briefly) on the AT 2 years ago. It is awesome and like seeing a long lost relative. The heat got intense on some days and the lack of water exasperated the situation. One stretch was 30+ miles, and since that is farther than i cover in a day rationing is key. I was about 8 miles into this section when i met a dayhiker "Doug" who upon finding out my situation offered to bring water to Walker Pass. I was immediately able to drink the precious water i was conserving. He asked if i needed anything else and as i was low on cooking fuel he hooked me up as well. Plenty of water and fuel for me and the hikers behind me. I have heard that grace is an unwarranted gift and that being said Doug was my saving grace that day. Thank you friend.
