Its amazing how many ways we seek healing in the spiritual community without actually doing the nuts and bolts work to heal the heart. Many modalities and techniques can support the process, but if they dont go in deep, if they dont help us to get into the guts of the pain and move it, then little has been accomplished. Once, I paid a shaman $300 to beat a drum all around my body for hours, wanting so much to believe his claims that he was doing the healing for me. He wasnt, because no one can. No one but us. In fact, its all right there, deep in the bones, simply waiting for its moment of excavation, expression and liberation. It all comes down to our intention- do we have the courage to get inside and heal it, or will we delay it for another day?
