Its amazing how the sky can dramatically change colors in a short period of time and thus completely transform a scenery. We rose early Sunday morning as we were trying to catch the sunrise and the moonset. It was slightly overcast, so we figured we wouldnt have a spectacular sunrise but we kept hoping nonetheless. However, we were pleasantly surprised by this wonderful display of different hues...In hindsight I should have set up my second rig for a time-lapse...Ah well, there is always next time... I especially like the close up of the old and the new Bay Bridge connecting Oakland to Yerba Buena Island. Anyway, as we were patiently waiting for the sunrise starting at a little before 5 am, the sky started to display these insane amber colors. For a moment it almost looked as if the sky was on fire. What really jumped out at me was the contrast of these two bridges ; new vs old, light vs dark, present vs past...
