Its become a bit of a tradition to take Jude & Heidi to the Polling Station. This morning, after a bit of hilarity about the party strap lines (English Democrats - England First. Booohooo - mock tears), I then had to justify my choice of Judith Kirton-Darling & Co - and quite rightly so. The kids are very interested in why Im not voting Green and after a long explanation, I took their silence as acceptance - although they might just have been bored. Then we had a long, animated conversation about Tony Benn, Gandhi and Selena Gomez all the way to school. After all this ground work, Im very much looking forward to the election day when they tell me that theyre not bloody voting cos its a reactionary bourgeois institution that deceives the masses into believing that they can achieve change through the ballot box.
