Its become a cliche to thank people the day after your birthday for the outpouring of love received on your birthday, so while I am very grateful to everyone who thought of me on my birthday, I am that much more thankful for the friendship and love I get every day--I am overwhelmed by it all the time. Speaking of being overwhelmed, I was very moved by an article that just appeared in Austins Jewish newspaper, The Jewish Outlook, which tells the story of my rediscovery of the Latvian (formerly Soviet) Jew with whom I was symbolically twinned for my Bar Mitzvah more than 20 years ago.
