Its been 13 years since 9/11, and most of us over the age of 10 remember the day clearly. The world was changed forever. What does that world look like now? Heres an admittedly pessimistic perspective from The Guardian. Obama has now outlined his strategy to knock down the Isis threat. But the real work starts where it should have in 2001 Instead of addressing the extremism, the series of one-year, tactic-driven wars has morphed into regional powers using religious extremism as little more than a tool against their rivals. But, in addition to the dire article posted here, heres an additional thought: we so terribly squandered the global good faith we had directly after the horrible event. People all over the world stood with us, felt compassion and a bond....it could have been a unifying moment like no other. And then it all went horribly wrong...... What do you think?
