Its been 40 days since my dads passing - according to Russian tradition, today is the day his soul will leave the Earth to ascend into heaven! Thank you so much for all the beautiful messages - weve received over 500! I tried to put them all into this tribute - pls click through & see yours... we love and cherish every one of your kind words. Heres an incredible true story about a boy who wanted to fly... my dad that is! :) anastasiafai.wix/igorfedchenko Born in a tiny village in Russias Siberia, daddy dreamed about flying planes and travelling the world since he was a little boy. It was a crazy dream to have for someone from a rural part of an already closed off communist state. Yet, he did it! Dad was one of the few people from his birthplace to finish high school and one of even fewer to move out into the big city. Dad went to a college in the regional capital city and then attended the Aerospace Academy in St Petersburg. Through his love of airplanes, thirst for travel and great skills papa was one the very few people allowed to travel abroad for work. I remember his first trip to Finland… he was studying English for a year by listening to tapes and reading books. To make it easier for me when I need it (and he was sure Ill need it - thanks daddy) dad made me study English too - I was 5! Papa brought me so many gifts from Finland - I was the coolest kid in the city - I got a Sony Walkman, some fluoro colour clothes (we’ve never seen colours like that in Russia during the 80s) and pink chewing gum. #woah :) By the age of 57 when my daddy left this world, he had travelled half the world, studied in London, worked in Austria and holidayed all over Asia and Europe. Who wouldve thought that a boy from a God-forsaken village in a locked down communist regime will be able to fulfil his dream - to fly! Its so amazing to see that dreams do come true and hard work and perseverance can take you places others think is impossible... WOW! I had the biggest success story right there with me, my whole life! Thank you daddy for giving me my life, my amazing childhood, some of your great character and a lot of your great looks! :P Your legacy will live on… and just like you - I’m crazy about flying to places :) I love you daddy... anastasiafai.wix/igorfedchenko
