Its been a GREAT day in the Lions Den! We had an awesome day at District UIL Academic at Westside! We are heading to UIL Regionals in Brenham, TX in May! LC Wilson placed 1st in Persuasive Speaking and Mia Teamer placed 3rd in the Same event! Marquise Murphy placed 1st in Informative Speaking. Simone Collins placed 1st in News Writing and Feature Writing. We are waiting on the results for Editorial and Spelling and Vocabulary because we went to support our JY Players in the District One Act Play competition @B.T. Washington where for the second year in a row, Yates advances to the Area Competition on April 12, 2014 at Lee College! Steel Magnolias! Yeah Margo Hickman and Crew! Charlotte Byrd was Best Actress. All Star Cast: Mia Batts and Datavier Catlin. Honorable Mention: Jakira Gardner and Tamirah Collins. Outstanding Tech: Ashlie Williams ! Dont tell me what a Lion cant do! Thankful my UIL Team, Margo Hickman and Velda Hunter for helping to prepare our students and our administration for their support!
