Its been a beautiful last couple of weeks and after our harsh winter, it can be sooo easy to get relaxed and excited at the same time for some hot weather ahead.... having drink fests with friends and co-workers, sleeping in/sleeping late, getting lazy and sun burned on the deck and by passing the item on your to do list that said to workout today. Nothing wrong with that. Acknowledged and accepted. Now lets get back on track before the scale and your best jeans and top tell you its time :) In a past guest appearance on Breakfast TV we talked about the 5 steps to get back on the fast track to fitness and fat burning mode. 1. Focus - The health benefits of staying active and in fat burning mode not only involve looking good in your jeans, but feeling good and ready to take on the stresses of the days ahead. School is winding down, work is steady and the routine of the summer daily grind is stepping in. Time to get focused and back to taking the time to focus on your health and energy. 2. Hydrate - Okay, so your ratio of water to liquor/sugar over the last few weeks are out of proportion. Did you know that lack of water is the #1 cause of daytime fatigue? Dry mouth, dry skin, chapped lips, fogginess and constipation are most likely caused by dehydration. Dust off that water bottle and get hydrated right now. (Go ahead, Ill wait) 3. Cleanse - Stocked up on your favorite bag of chips, chocolate bars and pop? Put them away and start stocking your fridge with all the fresh fruits and veggies that are still in season before the winter comes. One ingredient items such as apples, cashews, red peppers, spinach and beans help clean your system of all the crap you put in your belly. Dont feel guilty, the damage is done. Time to undo. 4. Rest - Its easy to want to go to bed late to catch up on your favorite PVRd shows or wake up late to enjoy the comfort of your bed. When we start to get lazy with our sleeping schedule, we also get lazy with everything else like preparing meals and getting a work out in. Go back to your regular sleeping routine now so that you train your brain to get ready for a beach ready body and energy for days. 5. Exercise - In the second segment of the BreakfastTV Body and Balance, I put Fit and Fabulous Marlo Boux on a full body warm up routine.
