Its been a busy week here at The Turtle Hospital as we prepare for our Annual Sea Turtle Workshop this weekend. Along with preparations, Dr. Mader and Dr. Kristin have been in to perform endoscopies and tumor removal surgeries on some of our newer patients. On Tuesday, Dr. Mader performed three successful endoscopies on new patients from last week Tom, Trumbo, and Sappy who are all boys. Today, Dr. Kristin was here to remove tumors from Optimus Prime and Laval. Both of these turtles have a long road to recovery but the largest of their tumors were removed in hopes that their blood values will increase to allow their bodies to heal. Dr. Karpinski, our awesome opthamalogist may also make an appearance at the hospital tomorrow afternoon to remove eye tumors from Tom and Sappy. The Turtle Hospital is very thankful for our wonderful veterinary team and the compassion they have to escape the domestic animal world and save our sea turtles!
