Its been a great year. Last September I only dreamt of being on stage as a bikini competitor, thinking it was impossible to get myself into tip too shape and present my physique to onstage to a panel of judges to be critiqued. A year later, I have competed in 4 shows placing top five each and every show, and exceeding my expectations by competing in a figure category and placing twice, and winning overall. There were days where I wanted to give up. I questioned myself time and time again, asking why I wanted to out myself through such a grueling yet rewarding experience. Last night, I realized exactly why as I looked into the audience and saw the faces of each and every person I love most. Peter Griffiths you have been my rock, my biggest supporter and fan - pushing me through every rep and hiding my beloved almond butter when I couldnt eat it. Juan Pla when I started this journey I had no idea what to expect, and I didnt realized how hard this process could be, but whenever I doubted myself you were here to remind me that each and every day I wake up and commit myself to this process makes me that much more of a winner, an inspiration, and a fighter. You are the best coach, trainer and friend a girl could ask for and I will forever be grateful. Daisy Gonzalez - having you in the audience and watching your face light up as you watching me literally shake what ya momma gave ya is by far the best and most exciting part of being on stag love you. And lastly, last night I looked out into the audience and saw my 76 year old cancer survivor grandfather smile, laugh, and even scream out go number 3 - that moment made every hour long stairmaster cardio session, every squat, lunge, burn - worth it. I dedicated this entire competing season to my grandfather. Im so happy you were able to witness what all my hard work has gone to. I love you more than anything Abuelo.
