Its been a lazy day after a very busy, but SO interesting weekend! I headed to the Halifax Seaport Market after the Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers Market was finished yesterday and for a bit I thought my luck would hold out on the weather . . . well, it did for a while, haha! I had enough time to walk down the piers and learned that Pier 21 will reopen even bigger next May . . . Ill definitely be back to explore this wonderful site! The Seaport Market didnt disappoint, and my market grocery bag got fuller with the addition of . . . wait for it . . . fresh Nova Scotia grown ginger!!! Wow!!! A beautiful pork chop made it into the bag, too, which already had wonderful sharp cheese, carrots, grapes, baguette and mmmm croissant all from Musq Hbr (there were cookies, too, but I ate them right up!). Needless to say, I have been eating well:-) I caramelized the ginger in butter with the pork, then poured all that yummy gingery butter over millet from Speerville Flour Mills and carrots . . . Oh my, it was SOOO good! . . . and as you can see, the croissant got butter toasted in my cast iron pan then topped with fresh fried egg and cheese. All of this PERFECT comfort food for chilly, wet weather :-) There was more to the trip, but Ill save that for tomorrow :-) Gnight all! Leigh
