Its been a little bit since Ive done a spiritual post on here, - TopicsExpress

Its been a little bit since Ive done a spiritual post on here, mainly because my shoulder has been pretty sore for the last couple of weeks. But I wanted to share a little bit on trials and challenges. As some of you may know, a couple weeks ago in one of my games I dislocated my shoulder and ended up tearing my labrum. I was tackling a guy and just landed weird I guess and just like that, my season was over. Its been a humbling experience so far and not only because Im out for the remainder of the season, but also because I was planning on turning my mission papers in this week and now Im going to have to wait at least a few more weeks to find out if I need surgery or not. Best case scenario I wont have to get it and Ill just have rehab for 2-3 months and Ill be able to turn my papers in soon. But if I do have to get surgery it will about a 4-6 month recovery and I wouldnt be able to turn my papers in until Im cleared by a doctor afterwards. At first I was upset with God and wanted to know why he would let this happen to me. I feel that Ive been trying so hard to prepare and do what Im supposed to to get out in the mission field. But then I watched Elder Jörg Klebingats talk from this last conference session and it was exactly what I needed to hear. In his address he talks about 6 practical suggestions to increase your spiritual confidence and of these 6, his last one is my favorite (I attached this part of his talk below and you can find the rest of it at lds.org). He says to accept trials, set backs and surprises as part of our mortal experience. We should not look at the trials we are given as punishments for what weve done wrong, instead we should look at them as things that are allowed into our life because of what we are doing right. I know it doesnt always make sense, but I know for a fact that God has a plan for each and every one of us. It may not always make sense but we have to go forward with faith no matter what and trust that our Heavenly Father will help get us to where we need to go. I love this gospel so much and I know that whether or not I have to get surgery or wait to go on a mission, its all happening according to Gods plan. As always, thanks to all my friends and family that always text and call, I love hearing from everyone! And if anyone wants to talk or has questions feel free to text or message me on here! Remember to whats right and always be an example because you never whos watching and how you might affect someone by just being a good example. #sharegoodness #ldsgenconf
