Its been a long day for me and Gracie. Her counts were good but her red blood cells were on the lower side. Gracie was able to get Vincristine today and start back on steroids. Steroid weeks are never easy and Gracie has a hard time with them. The DEXA scan went well considering that a 5 year old has to stay really still for 5 minutes. She was in a bad mood because it seemed like we walked miles to the other side of the main Vanderbilt hospital. Bless her little heart, it was pounding out of her chest after walking such a long distances. Her little body just cant keep up with her energetic spirit. She did have a Gracie moment and move her arms during the scan which made her arm bones look funny. I did have a little meltdown while I was staring at the screen because these bright dots were showing up and my first thought was cancer! Fear always gets the best of me. Of course everything was fine and the technician ensued me that the results were perfectly normal and it was only her blingy jewelry on her pants and zipper. The picture was kinda neat to look at, you can even see her port and the tube that runs to her heart. On a funny note Gracie almost got smashed by the elevator door lol.😄 I keep telling Gracie that the sensor doesnt read her because shes so short and one of these days the elevator door is going to get her. The embarrassed look on her face was priceless when the door closed on her. No matter how bad our day is she always seems to make me laugh even at her own expense lol.😄
