Its been a lovely #Christmas. I was able to spend time with both of my beautiful grandmothers, and immediate family. (I didnt cuss once!) As I knew he would be, our sweet Pops was definitely missed. He always loved Christmas! Ive had a few tearful moments since being here. However, Mems told me a story today that I had never heard until a few hours ago. Mems: I knew when you were gonna be on the Food Network & Cutthroat Kitchen. Your Pops wasnt able to get out of his bed because he was so very weak. But when the time came for you to come on, I turned him on his side, and fixed his bed so that he could see you on the big television. Suddenly, your Pops said, IS THAT ROMAN? Although his mind wasnt entirely there, and he was easily confused, all throughout the show he would keep asking, with excitement in his frail and failing voice, IS THAT MY GRANDSON, Roman? I kept telling him, Thats your ROM, Sweetheart! Hell be so happy when he finds out that youre watching! There is no amount of fame, money, or prestige that could even begin to compare to the value of knowing that Pops was watching, and was proud of me! For all of you, I hope that this holiday season is filled with as many special memories as mine! —R
