Its been a pleasure to support all these guys throughout the Rocky Trail Shimano Granprix 7/4hr series and make sure their bikes preformed floorless throughout each event. We appreciate all the hard work theyve put into each race and also thank all the Ride Ettalong Riders and Ambassadors for flying the Ride Ettalong flag not only at these events but all year round. Big congratulations to Darren Dillon who not only finished on the podium 4 out of the 5 races but won 3 and took out the series overall win in the Solo 7hr Masters Category. Below is a race report in Phill (the Box) Boxsells words. Thanks for putting it together Phill. Well we are done, the Macs Crew are all packed up on on our way home after gruelling 7 hours in the saddle. Darren led the charge looking to finish the series with another win however today was not his day. after a week of struggling with a cold he just could not match the likes of Jason McAvoy. Just off the podium in 4th place followed by Jase in 5th. This was good enough for Daz to take the series, he certainly has been committed with his training and nutrition. We were surprised to see Daz take it out but there have been plenty saying, who is this Darren Dillon? Well done mate well deserved. Jase is another who just keeps getting stronger and is really setting himself for the Croc Trophy next month. Big effort from Mark who planned his race with perfection, Connor was on the sideline following Marks detailed written instructions ensuring that his race hydration formulas were correctly delivered and accurately measured. He even ensured in his strategy to include a pre race crash into a stump on The Luge. Well done bro, great effort smashing out 12 solid laps. And as for me, it all came to a spectacular end following an attempt at a full forward somersault of a jump, losing and then using my face for a brake. A little bit bruised and battered but more just a matter of a damaged ego forcing me from the race at the 4 hour mark. A great day of racing, world class trails and a great bunch of mates. Thanks to Matt and Jon for getting out Epics race ready. They did not miss a beat all day. Even after I spectacularly end overed and used my face for a brake Great weekend of riding with a great bunch of mates Bring on Mt Annan in December, watch out.
