Its been a rough few days for Sirius volunteers because weve had to say goodbye to 3 beloved dogs since Friday. We said goodbye to the little puppy Ruby that was rescued last Thursday evening but was so poorly she only lasted a day. Then we said goodbye to our precious Mildred who died at 11 years old but unfortunately not of old age. Mildred was under surgery to have a cancerous lump removed when the vet discovered that the cancer has spread through many vital organs and her stomach and advised that putting her to sleep humanely was the best solution. Today we lost our boy Mercedes to Leishmania. He was under treatment but the infection has already damaged his kidneys and he didnt respond to his treatment. He was just under 2.5 years old. All these dogs ended up at Sirius because they were unwanted. How selfish is it to discard life this way.?! At least all died knowing they were loved. R.I.P Sweet souls. Gone but not Fogrotten.
