Its been a strange week...been feeling like I should be calling my business Mad In Bridgeport rather than Made In Bridgeport. Our Contract at the Arcade ends in December. The traffic and issues downtown are just the same -nothing is changing for the better. I honestly have struggled to make a living at this for 2 years and while I have had my doubts about moving forward I continued with the hope that I would make a difference. This is not a poor me pity party by all means, but I am in a place right now when I have to ask myself What the Hell am I doing in Bridgeport? Emphasis on the Doing part more so than anything else. Would love to make some connections with the Press but no one seems to get back to me. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who I can connect with that would help me to show people the great things we do at Made In Bridgeport and the potential for greater things if given the right spotlight and support from those who could flip a switch to either make or break what we are trying to do as small business owners in the Arcade Mall and for those businesses throughout downtown who are also struggling. I hope this starts a much needed conversation about business in Bridgeport. I know there were some unhappy folks when I posted my concerns in December last year after Ripkas left. But I managed to stay. HELP.
